About Us

PRECISE began operations in 1996 and is an Africa-based agency with its Secretariat Nairobi Kenya.  It brings together African professionals with the expertise to work in a wide range of sectors.  The agency has built a network of collaborative arrangements with other agencies, entities, and organizations, including institutions that thematically graph its work in Africa and internationally.

PRECISE continues to provide its services in stable and countries in fragility. It has worked for, and with local community groups, community-based organizations, national, regional and Pan-Africa agencies, faith-based entities, civil society, the media, governments, UN Agencies, AU agencies, International humanitarian agencies and NGOs, Consortia, Alliances, bilateral and multilateral agencies, private sectors among others in define countries of Africa including organizations working in India, Romania, Ireland and Netherlands.  

In 2018-2019, PRECISE took part in an international process of developing quality standards in humanitarian work.  This effort focused on creating standards of quality on how assessments of learning are conducted and how the delivery of learning is provided to those who need it.  The process was piloted by 25 agencies internationally for 6 months and audited. PRECISE was among the top 15 agencies that went through the process from its beginning to end.  This updated and enhanced its approach to quality assurance and management.

For a period of 5 years, PRECISE was the Country Representative for a Norwegian Agency, STROMME Foundation in South Sudan. The agency also works with consortia, alliances, and partnerships to address needs. This includes working with community-based entities, and their umbrella and federation organs to address needs thereof.  The agency also interacts and works with other sectors in civil society, including faith-based organizations (indigenous faiths, Muslim, Christian, and Hindu).

PRECISE has developed strong and effective approaches, methods, techniques, tools guideline and frameworks for delivery of its services.  Its track record of services has been positively successful.  PRECISE has managed important assignment processes on consultancy in Burundi, Rwanda, DR Congo, South Sudan, Sudan, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Somaliland, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Gambia, India, and Romania.

Organizational Development and Capacity Strengthening –We deliver value and enrichment

Under this, PRECISE works on a need-based approach with organizations to strengthen organizations through Organizational Development, Board Development and Capacity Interventions to help organizations become more focused, on quality, performance, and result-based in their work. This entails organizational review, functional analysis, setting benchmarks, and standards are used.

Business Planning, Program Design, & Development – We deliver expertise and state-of-the-art approaches

The agency adapts to the operating context systematic and evidence-based approaches to planning and design.  It has context-built guides and frameworks that meet international standards to facilitate our clients to achieve unique enhancements in their work creating results.  PRECISE bases its approaches and practice on evidence and systematic proven approaches to support primarily all aspects of business, program, and projects.  An important aspect of its approaches is that of creating internal capabilities for the staff of the client to manage the business with competence on their own.

Research, Knowledge Development & Management –We deliver on up-to-date knowledge analysis

The aim of this sector is to enrich learning and profile positive results achieved by African organizations, private sector, and governments in business, programs, and areas of their interventions. PRECISE is engaged in action research geared towards knowledge creation, development, knowledge management, documentation, disseminating, training and is open to learning.

Peace Analysis & Conflict Sensitive Analysis issues – We track patterns trends and emergent issues in the region

The Peace theme has increased in profile and focus in Africa.  As different conflict dimensions emerge, peace is an element to enhance due to fragility, political instability, and migration across the work. PRECISE has kept abreast or the trends and patterns of change in Africa.  As a result, it is in several networks and collaborations on peace. This is used to inform its work and enriches its clients. PRECISE takes active roles in peace and peace analysis as new types and levels of conflict continue to emerge in Africa.   

PRECISE Scope of Learning

PRECISE specifically interacts with agencies from the regions of Africa it works in and incorporates lessons drawn from its work with clients.  PRECISE gleans useful lessons from different contexts that expose opportunities for learning.  Some key sources include local communities, the Church and civil society, special purpose groups, and entities, political parties, and activists, donors, regional, national, local and International agencies, platforms and forums. 

Facilitation and Documentation of Processes

Process facilitation and documentation is an area of expertise that requires attention to detail in planning and process management. PRECISE has seasoned facilitators for delivery of need-based training, facilitation of symposia, conferences, seminars, and technical expert work groups. Outcomes form such processes are effectively documented and presented professionally.  PRECISE has effective facilitators and documentation personnel.

Documentation and Publication Management

Authors, writers, and agency require support on how to write and publish important documents. Support from seasoned journalists in publication management provides the technical aspects for effective documentation and publishing.  PRECISE has a network of experts in this area.

Assessment, Designing, and Delivery of Learning

Assessment of learning needs, then designing a relevant syllabus, curriculum, training content, and training plans are crucial in the effectiveness and success of any training. This is an area of specialization at PRECISE.  More than providing trainers, the agency has the capacity for handling training needs right from the root to delivery of the training in a wide arena of work-based sectors and academic learning. PRECISE has trainers with the capacity to write professional quality training and learning manuals, and textbooks.
